My parents were married in September 1965. The picture below was taken that evening. In the background there is a JCT PA 27 assembly. This picture was taken on Park Avenue, the old alignment of US 6 & 19. This sign was located on US 6 West and US 19 South, one block north of the North St. intersection. Below, to the left, are two enlargements. Little did my parents know then, the other significance of this photo!
My grandparents also owned Dodds Red & White during the 1960's. These stores, once popular and numerous, are a rare find today. This store was located one block from the end of PA 27 on US 6 and US 19. This picture was taken in 1962.
