SPARTANSBURG - HISTORIC JCT PA 77 & PA 277
For over 40 years, PA 277 connected PA 77 to the Corry area.  When PA 277 was decommissioned in the late seventies, PA 77 took over PA 277's entire length.  The stretch of PA 77 between the former south end of PA 277 and Spring Creek was left without a signed route.  The last part of PA 77 from Spring Creek to PA 27 near Garland became PA 426 as it was extended to reach PA 27.

If PA 277 still existed today, perhaps the sign assembly above could be found on PA 77 westbound.
Even though PA 277 no longer exists, OLD PA 77 is marked at the intersection with this handmade sign below.
