HISTORIC PA 337
As shown on this 1951 map, PA 337 ran from Warren to Tidioute through the western edge of the Allegheny Forest.  It remained unchanged during it's existence until at least 1974.  The exact northern end may have been at US 6 in downtown Warren.  The southern end was at US 62, only a hundred yards south of today's northern end of PA 127 across the river from Tidioute.
Just as you are entering the Allegheny Forest a few miles south of Warren, there is a street style sign for old PA 337.  Below is a similar sign found at the junction with US 62, 19 miles south of the first sign.
To the left is a closeup of the US 62 shields found at the end of old
PA 337.  Behind the stop sign on old PA 337, there is another street sign style marking the beginning of the decommissioned route.  In addition there is a small handmade route sign.  It is not dated or marked in any way. Even though it is shown as a US route, it is nice to see that an effort to sign the route by locals is made.  Of note...when PA 337 was still around, PA 127 did NOT end at US 62, instead it ran further north on the west side of the Allegheny River to end at PA 27.  PA 337 may have joined US 62 for a brief moment before crossing the bridge to Tidioute (that now carries PA 127) to end at PA 127's old alignment.

To the right is my idea of what PA 337 would look like on US 62 North just across the Allegheny River from Tidioute.
