KEYSTONE HIGHWAYS HISTORIC PA 78 |
PA 78 was victim to the invasion of the interstate highways in the mid-fifties. Interstate 78 was proposed in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, therefore, the majority of PA 78 became PA 173. Today, PA 173 ends at PA 27. However, PA 78 continued east on PA 27, west on PA 198, then alone a few miles to junction and multiplex with PA 408 West to end at PA 77.
