A view of the upcoming PA 285 junction and the first US 19 south shield after the intersection.
To the far left is a newer sign that replaced the JCT I-79/PA 285 assembly on US 19 North.  Below is a view of how close I-79 runs to US 19.  In the background, you can see a semi heading south on I-79.  The interstate is crossing over Geneva swamp.
The PA 285 East sign is found after the junction of US 19 and I-79.  Below is a view of US 19 in the foreground and the interstate in the background.
Immediately after the I-79 interchange, PA 285 crosses US 19.  The top two signs are found before the intersection, while the photo on the right is the first sign assembly after US 19.  Part of this stretch of PA 285 from here to Conneaut Lake is one of the last segments of the original alignment.
PA 285 is one of five state routes that run from end to end in Crawford County (the others are PA 86, PA 102, PA 198 and PA 618).  There have been several changes to this route over the years.  Most noteably west of Conneaut Lake and east of US 19.  Before I-79 was completed, PA 285 East multiplexed with US 19 South until the Georgetown Road just north of Sheakleyville.
