For as long as I can remember, PA 77 has been my favorite route. Most likely, because I grew up just a few homes away from the western end of PA 77. PA 77 begins its journey on the east end of Meadville. Below is a view northbound from Clark St, with PA 27 running in the foreground, and PA 77 climbing State Road Hill towards Corry. To the right is the first PA 77 East sign just after the intersection.
Below are the signs leading up to and after the PA 27 and PA 77 junction via PA 27 East.
Likewise, the signs below are coming into Meadville on PA 27 West.
On a personal note, when a was a little boy, I always wanted to go to Spartansburg, because of this sign just north of my parents' home. After seeing a Pennsylvania road map, I wanted to see the other end of PA 77 (on PA 27 at the time) as well as PA 89 and PA 277. That was 30 years ago, and now I can share those sites with others, so enjoy!
Here are two views from PA 77 westbound. The one below is the JCT PA 27/END PA 77 combination. The second (on the right) is a view of the intersection. The brick street ahead is Clark and PA 27 runs from east to west in the foreground.
