Barbra Streisand struck gold with her remake of A Star Is Born.  The movie was a hit and produced the biggest single of the year, "Evergreen".  Streisand's followup, "My Heart Belongs To Me" also fared well, landing at #7 for the year and making Streisand the top female artist of the year.  After several changes within the band, Fleetwood Mac found a winning lineup with the addition of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.  Their second LP together, "Rumours", was the first album to produce four Top Ten singles on Billboard's Hot 100.  Their biggest single to date, "Dreams" finished the year at #2.  David Soul continued the tradition of television stars creating hit singles.  His ballad, "Don't Give Up On Us" reached #1 nationally and landed at #5 for 1977 on UU-BRU Radio Playlist.  Marvin Gaye returned with another major hit, the dance flavored  "Got To Give It Up" at #8.  In 1957, Pat Boone finished the year at #2 with "Love Letters In The Sand".  Twenty year later, his daughter, Debby Boone, released her cover of "You Light Up My Life", ranked #8 for the year.  Two songs in the year end Top 10, "Evergreen" and "You Light Up My Life" were winners of Best Song at the Academy Awards.  Streisand won in early 1977 while "You Light Up My Life" would win in 1978.
