Mariah Carey scored one of the biggest debut records of all time when "Vision Of Love" became the #2 song of 1990. Fifteen years later, in the middle of a phenomenal comeback, she earned her first year end number one hit with "We Belong Together". Since UU-BRU Internet Radio began in 1978, no act has had the number one song of the year more than once. Mariah Carey continued this trend, also becoming the third act to have the #2 song of the year and later capture top honors, following Tim McGraw "Don't Take The Girl" (#2, 1994) and "It's Your Love" (#1, 1997) and Peter Cetera "The Next Time I Fall" (#2, 1986) and "Restless Heart" (#1, 1992). "We Belong Together" earned 663 points, the lowest total for the #1 song of the year since 1988 when Brenda Russell also scored 663 points with "Piano In The Dark". "We Belong Together" beat Gary Allan by two points, the closest margin since 2003 when Matchbox Twenty beat Fleetwood Mac by one point. In 2005, she placed five songs on the chart, all finishing in the year end Top 100 including "We Belong Together" (#1), "It's Like That" (#20), "Say Something" (#48), "Don't Forget About Us" (#57) and "Shake It Off" (#73). Mariah Carey won top song and female act in 2005, previously winning top new act in 1990 and top female act in 1993. Jack Johnson, Geoff Byrd and Big & Rich had never won a Fido Flash Award before 2005. The Muzik Mafia leaders placed 12 songs on UU-BRU Internet Radio, including three number one hits, "Coming To Your City" (#6), "Holy Water" (#8) and "Our America" (#100), most of any act in 2005. Elton John extended his streak to 28 consecutive calendar years with at least one chart hit. Madonna and Whitney Houston have also charted every year since 1984, but Whitney Houston failed to do so in 2005, ending her streak at 21 years.
